Online Casinos That Accept Credit Cards (2026): Approval, Fees and Limits for US Players
Every casino we rank accepts Visa and Mastercard for deposits, but whether your card works is decided by your bank, not the casino: US issuers flag offshore gambling under merchant category code 7995 and many decline it. When a card is approved the deposit is instant, minimums are $20 to $25, and fees range from nothing at Wild Casino and Super Slots to 15.9% or more at Ignition. Cards cannot be used for withdrawals at any offshore casino, so you cash out by crypto, check or wire.
This page explains why cards get declined and how to improve the odds, compares Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, lists the card limits and fees at the top five casinos, and shows when a prepaid card, gift card or crypto is the better route. Figures come from each casino’s published cashier terms, checked October 23, 2026.

Why Credit Cards Get Declined at Offshore Casinos
When you type a card number into an offshore cashier, the casino’s payment processor submits the charge to Visa or Mastercard with merchant category code 7995 (betting and gambling) and a foreign merchant location. Your issuer then applies its own rules. Some banks approve everything, some block all 7995 transactions, and some block only foreign 7995 transactions, which is why a card that works at a Las Vegas sportsbook can fail at an offshore site. The casino sees only “declined” and cannot override it.
How each card type tends to fare, based on the issuer policies published by the major US banks and the decline reasons casinos report:
- Visa debit: approved most often; the charge posts against your checking balance.
- Visa credit: approval depends on the issuer; several large US banks block foreign gambling charges on credit products while allowing them on debit, and Amex and Discover decline almost always.
- Mastercard debit: close to Visa debit.
- Mastercard credit: slightly below Visa credit, with the same issuer pattern.
- Prepaid Visa and Mastercard: approved when the card is enabled for international purchases; many retail gift cards are not.
If your card is declined
- Try once more with a debit card from a different bank or a prepaid card enabled for international use. Do not retry the same card more than twice: repeated gambling attempts can trigger a fraud freeze on the account.
- Check that the billing address and ZIP match the card exactly; address mismatches are the second most common decline reason after the issuer block.
- Switch to crypto. Every casino on this page accepts Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum and USDT with no fee, and Cash App sells Bitcoin from a debit card in minutes. See our crypto casino guide.
- Use a voucher or MatchPay. Ignition and Bovada let you buy a deposit voucher from another player with Cash App, Zelle or Venmo, with a $10 minimum and instant redemption.
Cash advance fees and interest
Many issuers code an approved 7995 charge as a cash advance rather than a purchase. That means a cash advance fee (typically 3-5% or $10, whichever is higher), interest from the day of the transaction with no grace period, and a lower cash advance limit than your credit limit. Debit cards avoid all three, which is the main reason to prefer debit for casino deposits.
Visa Casinos: Highest Approval Rate
Visa is the card with the highest approval rate at offshore cashiers and the one every casino on this page accepts. Credit, debit, prepaid and gift cards all work for deposits. The minimum is $20 at Ignition, Bovada and Cafe Casino and $25 at Wild Casino and Super Slots; the maximum per transaction is $1,500 at Ignition and $2,500 at Wild Casino and Super Slots. Visa deposits post instantly and are not available for withdrawals.
Fees differ by casino rather than by card: Ignition charges 15.9% or more on Visa deposits and shows the exact percentage under the amount field; Bovada shows its fee the same way; Wild Casino and Super Slots list no casino fee. Our Visa casinos page ranks the casinos by Visa terms.
Mastercard Casinos
Mastercard is accepted everywhere Visa is, with the same minimums ($20 to $25), the same maximums and the same fee schedule at each casino. The difference is approval: US-issued Mastercard credit products are declined slightly more often than Visa credit, while Mastercard debit clears about as often as Visa debit. If you hold both networks, lead with the debit card of either and keep credit as the fallback. See our Mastercard casinos page for the current list.
American Express, Discover and Diners Club
American Express is rarely accepted at offshore casinos and none of our top five list it. Amex acts as both the network and the issuer, applies the strictest gambling rules of the three, and declines nearly all foreign 7995 charges. Where a smaller casino advertises Amex, expect the same result. Amex-branded prepaid cards are the only version that sometimes clears.
Discover is in the same position: not listed by the casinos we rank and declined by Discover as issuer when it is attempted. Diners Club, which we covered on earlier versions of this page, has been part of the Discover network since 2008 and is no longer offered as a separate deposit option by any US-facing offshore casino.

Prepaid and gift cards
A prepaid Visa or Mastercard is the standard workaround when your bank blocks gambling, because the issuer is the card program, not your bank. Ignition and Bovada accept them and warn that activation fees of 3-5% apply on top of the $20 minimum, so load $25 or more. Buy a card marked for international or online use; store-brand gift cards restricted to US merchants will decline. Prepaid cards are deposit-only, so plan a crypto, voucher or check withdrawal from the start.
Debit cards
Debit is the card type we recommend for deposits: highest approval rate, no cash advance fee, no interest, and the charge posts against money you already have. The casino minimums and maximums are the same as for credit.
When crypto is simply better
A $100 card deposit at Ignition costs $115.90 or more; the same deposit in Litecoin costs $100 plus a network fee under a dollar, posts in minutes, and can be withdrawn the same way within an hour of approval. If you make more than one or two deposits a month, the fee difference alone pays for the 20 minutes it takes to set up a wallet. Our Bitcoin and crypto guide walks through it.
What changed in this update
October 23, 2026: rewrote the page around card approval at offshore casinos (merchant code 7995, issuer rules, cash advance treatment); added the card terms table for Ignition, Bovada, Wild Casino, Super Slots and Cafe Casino; added decline fixes, prepaid and debit guidance; removed the Diners Club section and historical card-industry background.
If your card is declined or the fee is too high, our minimum deposit casinos page lists the $5 to $50 entry points by crypto and voucher, and the real money online casinos ranking shows the full bonus terms at each site.
Cards are the fastest way in and never the way out, so pair them with an exit plan before you deposit. Our every casino payment method hub compares the alternatives, the bank wire withdrawals guide covers the $2,500 to $25,000 bank route, and minimum deposit casinos lists the $5 to $50 entry points when a card fee makes a small deposit expensive.
Credit Card Casino FAQ
Why was my credit card declined at an online casino?
Your credit card was declined at an online casino because your issuer, not the casino, refused the charge. Offshore casinos submit card deposits under merchant category code 7995 with a foreign merchant location, and many US banks block that combination on credit products while allowing it on debit. Check that the billing ZIP matches, try a debit card from another bank once, and do not retry the same card more than twice.
What is merchant code 7995?
Merchant code 7995 is the merchant category code that Visa and Mastercard assign to betting and gambling transactions, including online casino deposits. Your bank reads the code before approving the charge and applies its own gambling policy: approve all, block all, or block only foreign 7995 charges. Some issuers also treat an approved 7995 charge as a cash advance, which adds a fee and interest from day one.
Do online casinos charge a fee for credit card deposits?
Online casinos charge a fee for credit card deposits at some sites and none at others. Ignition Casino charges 15.9% or higher and shows the exact rate in the cashier; Bovada and Cafe Casino show their fee the same way, and Bovada adds a 3-5% activation charge on prepaid cards. Wild Casino and Super Slots list no casino fee. Your bank may add a cash advance fee on top, which debit cards avoid.
Can I use a prepaid or gift card at an online casino?
You can use a prepaid or gift card at an online casino when it carries the Visa or Mastercard logo and is enabled for international online purchases. Ignition Casino and Bovada accept prepaid and gift cards from $20, with a 3-5% activation fee on top, so load at least $25. Store-brand gift cards limited to US merchants decline, and prepaid cards are deposit-only, so plan a crypto, voucher or check withdrawal.
Can I withdraw to my credit card from an online casino?
You cannot withdraw to your credit card from any offshore online casino, including every site we rank. Cards are deposit-only, so winnings leave by crypto (Bitcoin $75-$9,500 per request at Bovada, $100-$9,500 at Ignition, about 24 hours to approve), by voucher or MatchPay at Ignition, Bovada and Cafe Casino, or by wire and check at Wild Casino ($2,500-$25,000 and $500-$2,500) and Lucky Red.
